Welcome to my web site.
I was born and grew up in Deventer, The Netherlands.
That’s also the place where I started photographing.
Back then I set up my own darkroom for developing my own films and printing pictures.
The darkroom is still there but has not been used for the past three years because mainly I shoot digital nowadays.
I don’t develop myself the few films I shoot nowadays because it is too little to hold chemicals in stock.
Printing negatives nowadays is done digitally after scanning.
I combined the love for photography with the love for travel.
As a result I have a large stock of photographs made in Southern Europe.
Some of them can be seen in the gallery “Going South” and in my self-published book with the same title.
Both pictures and book are for sale if you like them.
24 january of this year I received an honorable mention in the leading international competition called The Black and White Spider Awards.
I was very pleased and honoured to get appreciation from a jury like that (e.g. Sotheby's, Tate Gallery, Flatland Gallery, Magnum Photos, Arte F)
